This type of tire tread wear on your auto tires indicates that the tire is under inflated. Auto tires are constructed in such a way that when under inflated, the tread your tires in which in contact with the ground is curved downward or arc like.

This may result in the concentration of weight on the tires edges that is in the middle thus causing the tire tread to wear mainly on the edges.

Solution : Add some air on the under inflated auto tires to prevent tire tread wear, check the vehicle owners manual for proper inflation pressure, it is recommended to check the tire pressure monthly to avoid abnormal tire tread wear.
