Battery Light Came on Steady While Driving
|
Car trouble symptoms:
Car battery light came on steady
while driving your car.
Car problem diagnosis:
battery light that came on steady while you drive the car is an indication of a
serious problem with the car that may result to car stalling and leave you
stranded. This kind of problem is
usually cause by a problem on the alternator. The alternator is the one that
provides charge to your car battery wherein all the electrical equipment inside
your car gets their power. The
alternator is a device that is driven by the use of a belt that is connected to
your car flywheel which also coupled with the car engine.
Usually the indicator light came on when the belt that
drives the alternator where broken or when the alternator is failing to
generate electricity to supply into the battery.
Car problem:
Broken alternator belt or Bad alternator (Failing alternator)
Car shop advice:
When the car stall while the battery light was on, no other option but to have
the car towed to a car shop. However, when the car is still drivable the first
thing to do is to park the car on a safe area then stop the engine. Open the
hood of your car then locate the alternator.
Check if the drive belt is broken if the belt was intact then the
problem is the alternator. In any case you may still drive the car to the
nearest garage and have a new belt put on or have a mechanic to check on the
alternator to know if the alternator can be repaired depending on the extent of
problem. Probably you may have 1 hour to
consume your battery reserve capacity before it drained out since the battery
will not be charge by the alternator.
