When you press your car brake pedal and have notice that it goes down further than it used to be, there are two possible reasons that causes this kind of problem. Its either your car brake fluid is very low or your car brake shoe lining is worn.

If your car brake fluid is at a normal level then the cause of having your car brake pedal to goes down than it used to be is that your car brake shoe lining is worn, usually a rear car brake is consisting of a drum brake system, drum brake is consist of brake shoes that when the brake pedal is press the shoes also press against the inside of a drum. If your car brake shoe lining is worn, your car brake pedal will have to be press down further than it used to be before your car brake shoe lining touches the inside of a drum. To correct the problem you have no choice but to bring your car to a reputable shop that specialized in car brake works, not unless you know how to replace your worn car brake shoe lining.

When replacing your car brake shoe lining, consider also to machine the drums before installing a new car brake shoe lining.
