Car Air Conditioning Cold Air Sudden Reduction

Category: | |

Auto Diagnose Trouble Symptoms: While your car air conditioning is in operation, suddenly the cold air coming out the car air conditioning vents stop.

Auto Diagnose: Sudden reduction of cold air while your car air conditioning is in operation can only mean two possible reasons, a major refrigerant leak or a car air conditioning electrical problem.

As you may already know refrigerant is the life blood of your car air conditioning system, it carries the heat from your car passenger compartment into outside of your car and making your car passenger compartment cooler.

Now, if one of your air conditioning system hose or seal was ruptured it can cause a very rapid leak of refrigerant from your air conditioning system, thus making its function to reduce suddenly.

However, another cause of problem is an air conditioning electrical problem, since the blower suddenly stop blowing cold air from your car air conditioning vents, the possibility is that a wire or a switch on your car air conditioning system has shorted which causes the circuit breaker to pop, thus causing a sudden reduction of your car air conditioning performance such as no cold air is blown out your car passenger compartment.

Another possibilities but is very rare to happen is having a compressor related problem, more specifically the belt that drives the compressor could be slipping or much worst it is broken or the compressor clutch might not be engaging.

Auto Diagnose Cause: Ruptured Air Conditioning Hose or Car Air Conditioning Electrical Problems

Auto Specialist Advice: First thing you should do is to check the car air conditioning system. Open the hood of your car and check for something that is more obvious to see such as ruptured air conditioning hose or broken compressor belt. If you cannot find the obvious problem, the its time to bring the car to a reputable auto repair shop specialized in car air conditioning repair and ask the mechanic to examine your car air conditioning system including the wiring system.
